Nidovac™ Heparin Tubes are available in variants for Sodium (Na-Heparin) and Lithium (Li-Heparin). The concentration of Heparin is as per the CLSI standard (17 IU/ml)
Ultrasonic Spray coating this ensure a uniform dispersion for heparin on sidewalls of the tubes, allowing proper mixing for specimen and anti-coagulant to give better Plasma separation and higher stability of specimen.
Mode of action: anticoagulant heparin activates antithrombins, thus blocking the coagulation cascade and producing a whole blood/plasma sample instead of clotted blood and serum. This is mainly useful when hospitals/ Labs are in requirement of the sample to be separated immediately for Clinical chemistry analysis, and cannot wait for time for blood clotting and serum separation. Heparin is a choice for tubes for mainly useful for STAT tests.
Mixing: 6-8 times gentle inversion cycle
Common test:
- Cardiac markers ( TropT , CPK-MB) , Ammonia and other STAT tests

Note :
Li-Heparin is choice a of salt over the Sodium(Na+) version owing the less reactive nature of the earlier and also for better accuracy for blood samples tested for Sodium(Na+).
